Enamelware

Enamelware is more than just an excellent cookware choice for its longevity and quality. As a result of its inherent strength and quality, it is extremely durable. Enamelware is considered timeless and here’s why:

  • With its smooth surface, enamelware is easy to clean and is non-stick. Meaning you have more time to enjoy the food, and less mess.
  • It is made without any chemicals or metals that might leach into the food.
  • Heat is transferred evenly and rapidly through the enameled surface, resulting in shorter cooking times without compromising flavor.
  • It is resistant to UV light, keeping its color composure fresh, and appearing brand new.
  • It will maintain the heat, even if it is exposed to extreme temperatures, and it will not deform.
  • Alongside being great for cooking, it is also an excellent dish for serving, giving it a multi-functional purpose.

Aluminum

Aluminum is lightweight and typically inexpensive making it an easy choice for new chefs. Although aluminum cookware is the most common in kitchens, it is not the highest quality of cookware, and here’s why:

  • You should avoid using aluminum pots when reducing dairy for ice cream base or soufflé base. This will impart a metallic taste to the food.
  • Foods like tomato sauce which is high in acid can become flavored with metal flavor after cooking on aluminum.
  • Aluminum will soften at higher temperatures, making it unfit for some recipes.
  • Aluminum is not dishwasher safe, making it more work to clean.

Stainless Steel

Stainless is a very durable metal, making it easy to cook with because it is scratch-resistant. The sleek nature of stainless steel makes it a very attractive choice for the kitchen. However, it has its downsides as well:

  • Same as aluminum, it may leach heavy metals into the food.
  • Due to the fact that it is very low in nickel, it is prone to corrosion.
  • It is hard to find good quality stainless steel that lacks these characteristics for an affordable price.
